I am pleased to announce the publication of my book, “Western Architecture as an Education.” The goal of this book is to help the general public understand, enjoy and become able to talk about architecture. When people hear the word “architecture,” they may ask themselves questions such as, “Will my home withstand an earthquake?” When you visit temples, shrines, castles, and other historical buildings on a trip, you realize that you have come into contact with architecture for the first time. But have you ever thought about how humans live under the protection of architecture 24 hours a day? In my university classes, I have taught that people are “born with architecture, wake up with architecture, commute to work with architecture, walk outside with architecture, work and study with architecture, get sick and well with architecture, and even go to heaven with architecture. However, do you know that you can really appreciate architecture from various angles, such as its splendor, depth, functionality, and cultural inheritance, as well as its spatiality, spirituality, and physicality? This book tells the story of Western architecture surrounding us in the 21st century with a historical axis. The history of Western architecture that has been softly taught to first-year college students, and the history of modern architecture that has been conveyed to graduate students in a slightly more in-depth manner, have been compiled for the general public. With this book, everyone will be able to talk about architecture with confidence, feeling a little more knowledgeable!
