It is my honor to be inducted into the George Washington High School Hall of Merit for 2025 (Class of Fall 1969), along with Emil De Guzman (Class of Sp.1965)The ceremony and the dinner will be held on Friday, May 29. Please come celebrate the occasion in South San Francisco

僕は中学校からアメリカで教育を受けています。1967-1969に在籍したサンフランシスコの公立ジョージ・ワシントン高校で2025年度「ジョージ・ワシントン高校功労者」殿堂入りを果たしました。これは思ってもいなかった光栄な受賞です。

今年は、ちょっと先輩のフィリピン系アジアンのエミール・デ・グズマン（1965年卒）とともにこの栄誉に輝きました。 式典と晩餐会は29日（金）に行われます。そして、僕のプロフィール写真が国技館の歴代優勝力士のように、ワシントン高校の壁に永遠に飾られます。そこには、NBAバスケットボール選手、女優、1960年代の世代を代表する歌手、アカデミー賞受賞俳優、政治家、文化人など大勢の要人の写真が飾ってあるようです。

I have been educated in the U.S. since my junior high school years. I learned at the beginning of this year that I was inducted into the 2025 “George Washington High School Hall of Merit” at George Washington High School in San Francisco, where I attended from 1967-1969. This is an honor I never expected to receive.

This year, I was honored along with a slightly older Emil de Guzman (Class of 1965) to receive this honor. After the official induction, my profile picture will be forever displayed on the wall of Washington High School, just like all the winning sumo wrestlers of all time at the Kokugikan arean in Tokyo. Along side my photo, a NBA basketball player, actresses, a famous singer representing the 1960s generation, Academy Award-winning actor, politicians, cultural figures, and many other dignitaries.
